Quinte Walleye Fishing

Walleye fishing on the Bay of Quinte has two distinct seasons, spring and fall.

Spring Season:
Walleye season opens the first saturday in May and most charter captains operate from opening day until early June.  During this time one can expect to catch the resident juvenile walleye that range from 1-5 lbs with the avg fish being around 2lbs or 17 inches long.

Fall Season:
The fall season starts in early September and runs until ice up typically late Nov or early Dec.  This is the season Quinte is famous for and the large mature walleye return to the Bay of Quinte.  Catch rates are lower but trophy fish are the target and fish up to 15 lbs are possible although the majority of fish caught are between 6 and 12 lbs.
